Voip services that have Lorain Ohio numbers?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I’m looking for a VOIP service that has numbers in Lorain Ohio. I need to keep my home phone number but can’t seem to find a service that ports my number. They all claim they can but when I type in 440-277-XXXX they say it’s not portable. If anyone knows of a service for me I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!

how to port forwarding with Vonage VDV21-VD + Linksys WRT54GS?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I recently subscribed to Vonage (VoIP) phone service and am now having problems setting up port forwarding for BitComet. Before I got Vonage phone service,I had only my Linksys WRT54GS wireless router.Port forwarding with my 2 pc’s and WRT54GS all by itself was working perfectly. Now,with the Vonage V-Portal (VDV21-VD) BitComet says that it is being blocked.Of course I called Vonage tech support, spent nearly an hour on the phone with one of the supposedly highly skilled and trained tech reps, highly skilled and trained,WOW,what a joke.Anyhow I have tried seting up port forwarding on the V-Portal (VDV21-VD) and it is not working. The BitComet app I have on one of my pc’s is showing a completely different IP address than any of my pc’s are using. Please someone give me a solution!!

Is there a way to get a bluetooth enabled mobile phone (cellphone) to act as a bluetooth headset?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I would like to get headset service to run on my bluetooth mobile phone so that I can use it to make VoIP (Skype) calls through my bluetooth PC laptop, instead of having to carry a traditional bluetooth headset around.

PLEASE HELP! question about connecting landline to pc?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I would like to know how to connect my landline to my pc and use my pc as a phone with my exsisting landline service, along with a headset and microphone. I’ve heard that you need to know if it is voice compatible modem or just data, i am not sure, so i have a few questions really…

1. how do i find out if my modem can handle voice? if it cant, what do i need to do to have a voice modem?

2. if you know of any programs or drivers to accomplish this, may i please have names and / or links?

3. as far as internet voip or pc to phone service goes, i am interested in hearing about them as long as they are completely hassle free and 100% cost free to any landline within the usa. i dont want to pay any money and i dont want to talk on the phone for 1 minute for free, so nothing totally lame or bogus please. =)

4. the main reason i am doing this, is because i want to make and record phone calls on my pc. if you have any ideas on how to do this please let me know! thank you all!!!!

Nadine

Viewing DirecTV overseas ?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I know people who have a US billing address and use Vonage VoIP service overseas. Can the same concept be applied to installing same DirecTV equipment in an Asian Country and getting it to work ?

Best Voip in UK (Buying it from UK or US)?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I’m currently in the US, and going to the UK. I’m looking for a Voip service which can call the US and the UK for free, in addition to other cheap international (Lebanon, Kuwait) calls. I can buy the Voip service from the UK or from the US. Currently, I’m thinking of buying the Vonage service from the US. You can call through it any land line inside the UK for free but not cell phones. You can also call the US and Canada and other countries for free. I think it’s the best deal till now. Could anyone please help me find out if there’s a better deal for the UK. Thanks a lot in advance!

What’s the best long distance provider for use with Qwest?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I have only local service right now. Don’t recommend Vonage, Packet8, etc. I know about those. I’m not looking for VoIP.
